Lee's Hall, Gilmer's Boyd highlight East Texas Dream Team

Beginning in the summer of 2008, the sports staffs from the Tyler Morning Telegraph and Longview News-Journal met up to combine all of our knowledge from East Texas football into a preseason Dream Team. It is made up of the best area players at each position.

Bullard softball team set for World Series

  The Bullard Dixie Ponytails are the Texas State Champions and are now headed to the World Series. The Bullard Ponytails won the U12 Dixie X-Play state championship, which was held in Commerce from July 17-22. The Ponytails defeated Hopkins County 6-3 in the state title game.

New Boston's Sid ‘The Jet’ Garton to visit Green Acres with new book

Usain Bolt is known as the “The World’s Fastest Human,” but it in the late 1950s an East Texan held the title. Sid “The Jet” Garton, who starred at New Boston High School, has written a book about his experiences on the track and in life.
