Lindale Cross Country Meet: Bishop Gorman girls win again

LINDALE — The Bishop Gorman Lady Crusaders won their third meet in five tries by capturing first in the Class 3A and below division at the Lindale Cross Country Meet at Garden Valley Golf Course on Friday.

Palestine won the corresponding boys meet while Kaufman swept the 4A-5A division.

Gorman’s Sharon Kariampuzha won her second race of the year to lead the Lady Crusaders, who were also boosted by Kelly Frossard’s sixth-place finish. Kariampuzha turned in a time of 13 minutes, 29.14 seconds.

Hunter Fair of Hawkins won the 3A and below boys race at 16:52.49. The Palestine boys were led by Tyler Barnard (third), Denis Quincin (fourth), Alec Meyers (fifth) and Mason Munoz (10th).

Kaufman’s Angela Dees led her team to victory with a first-place finish in a time of 19:26.43.

Running without a team, Eustace’s Evan Arambula won the 4A-5A boys race by half a minute, clocking in at 16:33.39. Kaufman’s Edwin Munoz was in second at 17:03.10.
