ROCKWALL — The Robert E. Lee boys basketball team is going to the playoffs.

The Red Raiders clinched their first postseason bid in six years by topping Rockwall-Heath 69-56 Tuesday at Heath High School.

Lee (20-9, 7-4) received a career-best 17 points from senior Justin DeSalvo with Taylor Tankersley scoring 18 for the Red Raiders who never trailed despite Heath making nine 3 pointers.

“We knew we had to come and keep a tremendous amount focus,” said Lee coach Alan Johnston. “Heath shot the ball extremely well, but DeSalvo (was on fire) and we just got steady play from everybody.”
