Brook Hill sweeps Canyon Creek

RICHARDSON β€”Both the Brook Hill boys and girls basketball teams picked up big TAPPS District 4-3A wins against Canyon Creek Christian Academy on Friday.

The Lady Guard scored a 61-30 win, followed by the Guard’s 55-34 victory.

District play continues on Tuesday as Brook Hill travels to play McKinney Christian. The girls begin at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m.

GIRLS

The Lady Guard (12-9, 4-2), had four players in double digits, led by a 15-point and 21-rebound effort from Samantha Anderson.

Along with Anderson, a sophomore post, freshman Charlie Niles helped control the boards, grabbing 15 rebounds and 12 points. Anderson also had seven blocks. Senior Alyssa Eden (11 points, nine rebounds) and Avery Langemeier (10 points, nine rebounds) were also in double figures.

BOYS

Brook Hill’s Grant Hanks went downtown with six 3-pointers, scoring all 24 of his points in the first three quarters to lead the way for the Guard (15-10, 5-1).
