Jacksonville goes to 30-0 with win over Corsicana

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Indians ran their unbeaten record to 30-0 with a 54-44 win over Corsicana on Friday night.

The Indians (7-0 in District 16-4A) were led offensively by D.D. Franklin’s 15 points.

Corsicana stayed with Jacksonville for most of the game, as the contest was tied at halftime. The Tigers (21-8, 3-4) trailed by just four entering the final period, but couldn’t close the gap in the fourth.

The Jacksonville win was game two of a doubleheader with the Maidens holding off Corsicana to win 40-39 in the first game of the night.

Corsicana’s Calae Wilson sank two free throws to make it 40-39, but all the Maidens (4-5 in 16-4A) had to do was inbounds the ball to win, which they did.

Jasmine Parson led Jacksonville with 13 points while Corsicana was paced by Wilson’s 13 in the loss.
