Lee golfers win in Spring Hill tourney


LONGVIEW — The Robert E. Lee golf team won the 18th Annual Spring Hill Panther Invitational for the sixth consecutive year on Monday at Wood Hollow Golf Course.

Lee combined for a 309. Sabine and Hallsville both carded 316s, with the Cardinals earning the runner-up spot (fifth-player scorecard).

Zach Sampson led the Red Raiders with a 75, followed by Will Pollard (76), Will Curtis (77), Kaylar Gee (81) and Ben Shoup (87).

Host team Spring Hill finished fourth with a 318, followed by Whitehouse (320), Lindale (324), Pine Tree (328), Jefferson (341), Kilgore (366), Linden-Kildare (374), Mount Pleasant (377), Atlanta (388), Chapel Hill (389), Bullard (393) and the Spring Hill JV (433).Jared Streeter led Sabine with a 75, while teammate Austin Gray had a 78. Hallsville was led by Devin Jackson’s 68.

The Red Raiders return to play on Monday in the Brook Hill Invitational on the Emerald Bay Club course in Bullard.
