HS Hoops Roundup, Jan. 3: Gorman girls rout Palestine

PALESTINE — Michelle Obach scored 31 points and Bishop Gorman rolled in the second half to a 65-40 victory against Palestine in girls non-district basketball action Thursday.

The Lady Crusaders (19-3) outscored Palestine 39-17 in the final two quarters after entering the break ahead by three. Gorman’s Susannah Williams contributed 13 points.

GRAND SALINE — Kelcey Daniel scored 19 points and Dawn Houck added 10 to lead Quitman past Grand Saline, 53-40, in District 14-2A girls basketball action Thursday.

Quitman (10-6 overall, 2-2 in District 14-2A) plays host to Winnsboro at noon Saturday.

Also in 14-2A on Thursday, Winnsboro beat Lone Oak 58-26. The Red Raiders also beat Lone Oak, 46-39.
