Tyler’s Haley Mills recently signed a nationally letter of intent with the University of Kentucky, Wildcat head golf coach Golda Johansson Borst announced.

Joining Mills for the signing ceremony were her parents, Claire and Steve Mills.

Her father also played golf at the University of Kentucky.

Borst also signed Megan Kinney of Frankfort, Ky., and Alessandra Walker of Paintsville, Ky.

“I am extremely excited about our signings from the class of 2013,” Borst said. “These young ladies will all bring something different to our program, but they all bring a great deal of passion, determination and a strong work ethic to our program. We can’t wait for this class to join us next year and I know that they will have an immediate impact and help us compete for championships. We couldn’t be prouder to have Ale, Haley and Megan join our Wildcat family next year.”

After attending Robert E. Lee High School, Mills started studying at the University of Texas at Austin Online High School.

Mills owns a 76.6 scoring average with her low competitive round of 66 coming at the 2012 TJGT – Galleria – Dallas Classic at Tribute, where she won the event.

In 2012, she claimed the TJGT Bridlewood Junior Championship and Texas Legends Winter Classic, while advancing to match play at the USGA Girls Junior Amateur Championship.

Mills also is a member of the 2012 AJGA HP Scholastic Honor Roll and won the 2011 TJGT Sooner Junior Major Championship.

The Kentucky squad is rated No. 29 in the fall rankings.
