Winona falls to Elysian Fields in 67-54 shootout

HALLSVILLE — Trevor Spear factored into eight touchdowns to lead Elysian Fields to a 67-54 win over Winona in an offensive slugfest in Thursday’s Class 2A Division II bi-district playoff game at Bobcat Stadium.

Elysian Fields (8-3) won the coin toss with area-round opponent Deweyville, with the game tentatively scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24 at Lufkin’s Abe Martin Stadium pending approval.

Spears completed 11 of 15 passes for 265 yards and five touchdowns and ran 13 times for 69 yards and three more scores for Elysian Fields (8-3).

Three of Spears’ scoring passes were to Nathan Hall, who caught four balls for 146 yards.
