RUSK ‚ÄĒ Rusk pitcher Sydney Littlejohn signed a national letter of intent to play softball at the University of Alabama on Wednesday.
Littlejohn, a 6-1 senior, won the District 17-3A Pitcher of the Year award as a junior and was selected all-state as a sophomore. In the class room, she has a 3.95 GPA and ranks fourth in a class of 128 students.
Littlejohn, who started playing softball at 8 years old, verbally committed to the Crimson Tide in August 2011. She attended two camps at the Tuscaloosa, Ala.,-based school while also considering Mississippi State, Arkansas and Illinois, among others.

Littlejohn burst onto the softball scene as a sophomore, recording 289 strikeouts, 17 shutouts and a perfect game. She played the last two summers for the Texas Glory select team, which placed fourth at the 2012 ASA nationals.
When not playing softball, Littlejohn is also involved with Member First Baptist Church, the National Honor Society and Welcome Home Soldiers.
