LONGVIEW — Bullard clearly wanted to end its season on a high note as the visiting Panthers came out quick and attacked the Spring Hill defense relentlessly in a 62-3 rout at Spring Hill Panther Stadium on Friday.

Bullard’s offensive barrage commenced on the team’s very first play as quarterback Colton Mebane opened the offense up with a perfect 31-yard strike to the hands of Haden Bryant less than two minutes in. Bryant also ran in the 2-point conversion.

Bullard (7-3, 3-3 District 16-3A) did not let up on its next possession after taking over near midfield. Bullard marched down Spring Hill’s field on seven plays with Zack Holladay punching in the score from 3 yards away. Bryant threw a pass to Holladay for the 2-pointer.

Another Spring Hill three-and-out and a solid punt return once again gave Bullard great field position and the Panthers did not hesitate as Mebane found Bryant again for a 31-yard touchdown pass.

Bullard’s defense was nearly as impressive as its offense as Spring Hill did not manage a first down until 5:46 remained in the second quarter.

Bullard would cruise in the second quarter, with Houston Alexander adding a 20-yard run and Brentavian Henderson jolting for a 15-yard score.

Spring Hill (3-7, 1-5) would finish out the half as kicker Chris Flournoy delighted the hometown crowd with a 47-yard field goal.

Trevor Rumbelow added a 1-yard score, Bryant tallied up his third TD of game on a 28-yard pass from Mebane and J.P. Hendrix ran in from five yards away for Bullard in the third.

Bryant finished with five receptions for 100 yards to go along with his trio of scores. Alexander led all rushers with 87 yards on 10 carries.

Bullard finished with 373 total yards (211 rushing) and held Spring Hill to 144 yards, with 100 yards rushing.
