TAPPS Roundup: All Saints, Gorman lose
The final All Saints football game of the season did not start out the way head coach Mike Hall and crew had hoped, but a second half rally set up an exciting finish.
All Saints rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit to tie the game at with 33 seconds left, only for Austin St. Stephen’s kicker Colin Spears to boot a 21-yard field goal with 33 seconds remaining to defeat All Saints 31-28 Friday at Mewbourne Field.
It spoiled a strong night for Trojans senior Ruben DeLong, who scored four touchdowns in the comeback. He found pay dirt on runs from 40, 14 and 3 yards, while also returning an interception 40 yards for a TD, which tied the game at 28-28 in the fourth quarter.
All Saints totaled 303 total yards to only 177 for St. Stephen’s, 119 of which it acquired in the first half.
The loss ended the Trojans’ first year of independent private school football with a 3-7 record. St. Stephen’s ended its season at 4-5.

Dallas Christian shuts out Gorman
District-leading Dallas Christian stayed atop the standings after dismantling the Bishop Gorman Crusaders 49-0 on Friday.
Dallas Christian (9-0, 6-0 in TAPPS D-II District 2) was led offensively by D’Andre Cannon, who rushed five times for 131 yards and three touchdowns.
Alex Craig connected on 8 of 11 passes for 109 yards and two TDs.
Tristan Saint completed 15 of 31 passes for 128 yards to lead the Crusaders’ offense.
