Statistical leaders: Baker has completed 246 of 390 passes for 4,252 yards and 53 touchdowns with eight interceptions. Wells has registered 153 total tackles and 13 sacks.

Offensive Outlook: The Rattlers definitely go through their quarterback, evidenced by Baker having thrown for more than 4,000 yards this season, which averages to almost 300 yards a game. His favorite targets have been Collins and McGinty, who have 88 receptions for 1,711 yards and 26 touchdowns and 82 catches for 1,654 yards and 20 TDs.

Defensive Outlook: The Rattlers have allowed only one opponent to score 20 points this season, that being LaMarque in Navasota’s 31-20 victory in the state quarterfinals. Through 15 games, the Rattlers have allowed only eight points an outing led by Wells and Co. Savensky leads the squad in tackles with 170 total, while Minor ranks second in that department with 166. Collins has a team-high seven interceptions.

Notable: Baker,Collins, McGinty, Wells, Minor and Savensky were named all-state by the Associated Press this week, and Baker was selected Class 3A’s Offensive Player of the Year.The Rattlers, who have outscored opponents 706-127 this season, are in the state championship round for the first time since 1988. The Rattlers outscored their District 18-3A opponents — Madisonville, Rockdale, Caldwell and Taylor — a combined 191-0.
