Volleyball Friday Roundup: Lindale wins on the road at Whitehouse, 3-2

WHITEHOUSE - Lindale traveled to Whitehouse on Friday to secure a hard fought District 17-5A victory (25-18, 18-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-12).

Leading the way for Lindale in the win were Lorin Reue (12 kills 1 block), Shelby Steen (7 kills, 7 digs), Brina Kuslak (5 kills, 4 blocks), London Reue (5 kills, 2 blocks), Shailan Davis (4 blocks), Harleigh Thurman (10 assists), Kalaya Pierce (17 assists, 11 digs) and Alisha Kiser (39 digs).

The leading Whitheouse LadyCats were Briana Brown (15 kills), Grace Hendricks (26 digs, 20 assists) and Macy Smith (43 digs).

Whitehouse JV ( 25-13, 18-25, 25-18) and 9th grade (25-22, 25-20) defeated Lindale. Lindale’s record is now 26-9 (4-1) overall. The Lady Eagles will travel to Nacogdoches on Tuesday.

 

DISTRICT 15-4A

BULLARD 3, SPRING HILL 0

Bullard swept Spring Hill on the road Friday evening (25-20, 25-20, 25-21). The Bullard leaders in victory were Sara McKeethan (16 kills, 12 digs), Keili Richmond (9 kills, 12 digs), Destinee Dixon (11 digs, 18 assists) and Kailan Bellew (11 digs). This win puts the Lady Panthers’ record at 23-10 (6-0) for the season.

Bullard JV also won their match (25-15, 25-21). Bullard will defend its home turf against the visiting Gladewater at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

 

DISTRICT 15-3A

TROUP 3, SABINE 1

Troup was victorious over Sabine on Friday (21-25, 25-12, 25-22, 25-23). The top players leading the Lady Tigers were Alex Flora (3 kills, 11 digs, 2 aces), Asia Parker (12 kills, 1 dig, 4 blocks), Jansen Reid (2 kills, 14 digs, 1 assist), Jayla Starks (1 kill, 2 digs, 2 blocks), Kori Minnix (5 kills, 18 digs, 2 blocks, 1 ace), Natalie Davenport (3 kills, 8 digs, 23 assists, 1 ace) and Savanna Cox (8 kills, 15 digs, 3 blocks, 1 ace).

 

DISTRICT 13-4A

RAINS 3, VAN 0

In a quick three set match, Rains swept Van on Friday night (25-10, 25-18, 25-20). The Lady Cats leading the charge were Shelbi Sheppard (8 kills, 8 digs, 21 assists, 1 ace), McKenna Hildebrandt (10 kills, 8 blocks), Aubrey Gowin (8 kills, 5 blocks), Summer Nerkowski (9 kills) and Elissa Elliot (11 digs). Rains’ record is now 23-11 (4-1).

The Lady Cats will host Brownsboro on Tuesday.

 

DISTRICT 19-2A

Union Grove beat Hawkins in district play on Friday night. The leaders in defeat for Hawkins were Jaycee Cheshire (3 kills), Emily Hodges (3 kills), Raeli Smith (6 digs, 4 assists), Harlie Conover (4 digs, 4 assists) and Alli Boyd (4 digs).

The Lady Hawks will host Big Sandy on Tuesday.

 

DISTRICT 12-3A

QUITMAN 3, EDGEWOOD 2

Quitman continued its win streak as it defeated Edgewood on Friday (23-25, 26-24, 25-9, 15-11). The lead Lady Bulldogs were Kaci Raley (24 kills, 11 digs, 2 blocks, 1 assist), Molly Tanner (17 kills, 12 digs, 2 blocks, 1 ace), Cammie Hicks (1 kill, 7 digs, 54 assists, 3 aces), Madalyn Spears (8 kills, 21 digs, 1 block, 1 assist, 1 ace) and Jentri Jackson (5 kills, 12 digs, 1 ace). Friday’s win brings Quitman’s record to 27-7 (9-0) overall. Quitman will host Alba-Golden at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

 

Late Thursday

All Saints 3, Bullard Brook Hill 0

BULLARD - The All Saints Lady Trojans scored a 3-0 win over Bullard Brook Hill in a volleyball match on Thursday.

All Saints (19-6-2, 3-0) won 25-16, 25-9, 25-19.

Leaders for the Lady Trojans were: Hanna Waits (17 kills, 9 blocks), Olivia Young (8 kills), Shelby Phillips (6 kills), Trysten Mosley (7 kills), Maddie Varga (19 digs) and Jaylen Wheat (9 digs), Lilley Lewis (35 assists).

Leaders for Brook Hill were Mary Roberts (4 kills, 3 digs), Katherine Modrick (4 kills, 3 blocks, 5 digs), Maddie Anthony (11 assists, 10 digs), Bailea Mapes (9 digs), Emily Livesay (6 digs), Morgan Carpenter (2 digs) and Kaitlyn Juarez (4 digs).

All Saints won the JV match 19-25, 26-24, 15-6.

All Saints plays host to Bishop Gorman Oct. 12. The contest has a 6:30 p.m. start.

 

Grace 3, Gorman 0

The Grace Community Lady Cougars scored a 3-0 win over the Bishop Gorman Lady Crusaders on Thursday at TKG’s Haddad Gymnasium.

Grace won 25-13, 25-17, 25-15.

Leaders for the Lady Cougars were: Rylan Wright (10 kills, 3 aces, 12 digs); Alexis Saczek (5 kills, 2 aces, 11 dig); Isabella Ramirez (4 kills, 13 digs), Rebekah Sutton (6 aces, 23 assists) and Summer Tennison (9 kills, 2 blocks).

The Lady Cougars travel to Bullard next Thursday to meet Bullard Brook Hill.

 

Late Tuesday

Edgewood 3, Alba-Golden 1

EDGEWOOD - The Edgewood Lady Bulldogs improved to 21-9 overall and 5-3 in District 12-3A volleyball on Tuesday with a 3-1 win over Alba-Golden.

Edgewood won 25-11, 25-13, 24-26, 25-21.

Edgewood plays host to Quitman on Friday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
