GRACE COMMUNITY GIRLS 5, BULLARD BROOK HILL 1

BULLARD - Lexye Price had three goals and two assists to power Grace Community to a 5-1 win over Bullard Brook Hill in the TAPPS D-II District 2 soccer opener for both schools.

The Lady Guard (2-4-1, 0-1) actually opened the scoring, taking the lead 10 minutes into the game when Caroline Welty found the backs of the net. Julia Hardiman assisted on the goal.

Price then took over, scoring or assisting on all five goals by the Lady Cougars (8-5, 1-0).

“My defense played great and it was a total team effort and the girls are looking real good,” Grace coach Mitch Smith said of his defending state champions.

Rebbekuh Sutton and Sydney Molina had the other two Grace goals. Molina added one assist while Hadley Jones tallied two assists.

Brook Hill coach David Collins praised the play of goalkeeper Heather McLarry who had 13 saves.

In the four-team district, Grace will next host All Saints while Brook Hill plays at Bishop Gorman on Tuesday. The Lady Guard play a non-district game on at Waco Riecher on Friday.

 

BROOK HILL BOYS 2, GRACE COMMUNITY 0

BULLARD - Dalton Findlay scored two unassisted goals in leading Bullard Brook Hill to a 2-0 TAPPS D-II District 2 soccer victory over Grace Community on Tuesday at Herrington Stadium.

Guard goalkeeper Josh Jenkins had seven saves, while coach David Collins praised the play of defender Jordan Wyatt and midfielder Winston Hebert.

The Guard (7-1, 1-0) play at Waco Reicher on Friday.

 

ALL SAINTS BOYS 5, BISHOP GORMAN 0

Will Sanchez scored two goals and William Bellefeuille was stellar in goal as the All Saints Trojans defeated the Bishop Gorman Crusaders 5-0 in a TAPPS D-II District 2 soccer match on Tuesday at Mewbourne Field.

Zain Yousaf, Ryan Jeong and Garrett Brown each scored goals for the Trojans.

Senior captain Wills Greene at center-back and Russell Wynne at center-midfield played well defensively.

All Saints (3-3, 1-0) plays at Grace Community at 7 p.m. Tuesday on Clyde-Perkins Stadium field.
