THE WOODLANDS - The Robert E. Lee Lady Raiders opened their soccer season taking on some of the top teams in the state at The Woodlands Soccer Tournanent.
The Lady Raiders finished 1-1-1.
On Thursday, Maddie Bice scored two goals in the Lady Raiders’ 2-1 victory over San Antonio Reagan. Meghan Romines and Irasel Pacheco assisted on the goals. Lee coach Chris Woodard noted Madelyn Filla “had a stellar game in goal.”
On Friday, Katy Seven Lakes edged REL 3-2. Scoring for the Lady Raiders were Bice and Pacheco. Assists were by Lexi Thedford and Romines.
On Saturday, REL tied Klein 1-1. Bice put the Lady Raiders up 1-0. Pacheco had the assist. Klein scored late to tie the game. Woodard praised the play of goalie Filla.
REL returns to play on Thursday in the Lufkin Soccer Tournament.
