Jacksonville native Luke McCown is finally going to play football in his home state.
The free-agent quarterback signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys on Friday. The move was reported with a tweet from his agent, Mike McCartney.
“Excited for QB Luke McCown agreeing to a one-year contract with the @dallascowboys,” McCartney tweeted a little after 8 p.m. central standard time.
McCown joins Dallas to back up Dak Prescott after backing up Drew Brees and New Orleans for four years.
The Cowboys are the sixth team McCown will have played for joining the Saints, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cleveland Browns.
