BULLARD â€” Despite its top golfer competing as a medalist, Robert E. Lee won the Brook Hill Classic golf tournament by eight strokes on Monday at Eagleâ€™s Bluff.
Bullard Brook Hillâ€™s Hunter Shattuck, who recently signed to play golf at McLennan Community College, won the individual tournament by four strokes with a 35-38â€”73.
Competing as a medalist for the Red Raiders, Kylar Gee finished second individually with a 77. Leeâ€™s Zach Sampson and Ben Harrison both fired 79s to boost the winning squad. Nacogdochesâ€™ Colin Frizzell also shot a 79.
Spring Hill edged host Brook Hill 337-339 for second place. They were followed by Nacogdoches (356) while Van and Sabine both finished at 358. All Saints took ninth with a 366 team score while Grace Community came in 14th (379).
Hagan Wood of Spring Hill came in sixth individually with an 81 followed by Hendersonâ€™s William Wilder at 82. Shooting 83s were Collin Thompson and Parker Fiscus of Spring Hill, as well as Dallas Sheltonâ€™s Chad Guta, Leeâ€™s Will Pollard and Carrollton Prince of Peaceâ€™s Zach Partin.
Also aiding the Red Raidersâ€™ victory were Ben Shoup (84) and Will Curtis (86).
