Henderson expected to hire Castles

HENDERSON — The Henderson Independent School District is expected to hire Corsicana's Phil Castles as its new football coach, according to CBS19 Sports, the Tyler Morning Telegraph’s news partner.

He will replace former coach Dickey Meeks, who took the head coaching position at Pittsburg High School.

On Tuesday afternoon, sources told CBS19 Sports that HISD made a decision to hire Castles, the former Chapel Hill head football coach currently in the same capacity at Corsicana.

Stacey Sullivan, HISD Director of Human Resources/Communications, told CBS19 Sports anchor Eric Sullivan that “no official decision has been made for who the new head football coach will be.”

She also said in a day or two a statement will be released from Henderson ISD regarding the football coach situation.
