Last Year’s Result: Jacksonville 46, Nacogdoches 45

Quick Slant: This is always one of the more entertaining contests of the season. In 2010, Jacksonville won 84-81 in a game that featured 12 overtimes. In 2014, Jacksonville won 85-79 over Nacogdoches in five overtimes. Jacksonville needs to win this game to assure itself at least a three-way tie with Whitehouse and Lindale depending how that game turns out. The easiest way for the Tribe to continue into the postseason is defeat Nacogdoches and have Whitehouse top Lindale. That would tie Jacksonville and Whitehouse at 2-3 with the Wildcats getting third by virtue of their win over the Tribe. If Lindale and Jacksonville wins, it comes down to winning margin to determine third and fourth. In that scenario, it comes down to margin of victory in those three games. The historic Tomato Bowl is getting a bit of facelift following this game. This will be the final contest played on the current field as a new turf field is being installed, along with updates to other parts of the stadium. That adds a little extra intrigue to this one. Jacksonville QB Dontrail Sessions enters with 1,581 yards passing and 14 touchdowns to go with 18 rushing scores.
