Quick Slant: Both teams are coming off losses a week ago. Bullard comes into the contest, averaging 29.4 for the season. In its three wins against Commerce, Palestine and Chapel Hill, the Panthers averaged 39.6 ppg. Bullard QB Cleet Bowman was 14 of 26 passing for just 150 yards and one touchdown against Henderson last week, bringing his numbers for the season to 146 of 253 for 2,102 yards and 22 touchdowns with four interceptions. That averages out to 233.56 yards per game or 8.31 yards per completion. His primary receivers have been Ty Crayton, Will McCowin and Colton Bowman. Crayton’s 52 receptions for 704 yards and 9 touchdowns is tops, while McCowin follows with 34 catches for 584 yards and 7 TDs, and Bowman has 27 for 289 and 1 score. The Panthers’ leading rushers are Luke Bowman (105-558, 7) and Cade Duvak (75-252, 1). … Kilgore is allowing opponents and average of 33.7 points per game, 190.8 rushing yards per game and 194 passing yards per contest. The Ragin’ Red’s leading tacklers last week against Center were S Damien Parker (9), LB Sebastian Mumphrey (8, 1 TFL, 1 Sk, 1 CF) and LB Nesba Brown (8). For the season, Brown leads with 114 tackles to go with 3 TFL and 2 INTs, while Mumphrey has 109 stops, 5 TFL, 2 Sk, 1 INT, 1 CF, and Parker follows with 93 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 Int and 1 CF. … Kilgore is averaging 38.4 points per game. Coming off another impressive performance (15-149, 2 TDs), RB Briant Mumphrey is within 76 yards of 1,000 (86-924, 13). QB Patrick “Buddy” Jackson and RB Ja’Vorie Hamilton follow with 770 and 754 yards, respectively. Jackson is 33 of 67 passing the football for 606 yards and 8 touchdowns. His leading receiver Oklahoma State verbal commit Jonathan Shepherd has 13 catches for 356 yards and 5 TDs. WR Deiontrae Wheat (7-87, 1) and Mumphrey (5-56, 1) follow. … Bullard’s top tacklers have been LBs Thomas Brooks (68 tackles, 7 TFL, 1 FF) and Landry Lasseter (61, 4 TFL, 2 INT, 1 FR).
