Another day, another East Texas football standout pledges his future to the Tom Herman and the University of Texas.
Arp’s DeMarvion Overshown announced on Twitter Wednesday that he was committing to the Longhorns.
“First I want to thank God and my family for helping me make this decision … I have officially committed to UT #revolUTion18,” Overshown posted Twitter.
He joins Carthage running back Keaontay Ingram, who committed to Texas on Tuesday.
Overshown, a 6-3, 205-pound safety, led Arp to the state semifinals for only the third time in school history. He produced 173 tackles, three interceptions and six tackles for loss during the season to be named All-East Texas Defensive Player of the Year by the Tyler Morning Telegraph and ETFinalScore.com.
The incoming senior chose Texas over offers from the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, Oklahoma TCU, Texas A&M, UCLA and USC.
