There was not much movement in the latest Associated Press High School Football Poll, which was released Monday.

There are no East Texas teams in the Class 6A or 5A top 10 state rankings, or among the “others receiving votes.”

Carthage (5-0), the defending Class 4A Division I state champion, remained atop the 4A poll after a 42-17 win over Henderson. Carthage will next face Kilgore, which is ranked 14th.

Gilmer (4-1) and Van (6-0) remained at Nos. 8 and 9, respectively. Gilmer had a bye last week while Van rallied after a slow start to beat Athens, 56-38.

Malakoff (5-0) stayed at No. 5 in Class 3A after winning its 17th straight regular season game, 49-14 over Groesbeck. West Rusk (4-0) remained at No. 9 after a 38-0 shutout of Troup.

Tenaha (5-0) remained at No. 1 in Class 2A after the Tigers won their 20th straight regular season game, 65-0 over West Sabine. Carlisle (5-0), coming off a bye week, is just outside the top 10 after moving up one spot to 11th.

Carlisle travels to Cushing (4-1) on Friday after shutting out its last three opponents. The game will be a District 11-2A Division I opener.
