MESQUITE - Mequite Horn held off the John Tyler Lions, 65-40, on Tuesday in a District 11-6A girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Jazmyne Hicks led JT with 17 points with Maikia Moon adding 11.

JT coach Ronald Meikle praised the play of the Lady Lions saying, “We just ran out of gas – it was the smartest we played defensively.”

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS - Addie Daughtry paced Grace Community with 26 points as the Lady Cougars defeated Fort Worth Christian, 53-44, in a non-district girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Jordan Tauscher added nine points for the Lady Cougars (16-6), all on 3-pointers. Lindsey Hudgins and Jo Murray added eight points apiece with Reagan Wilson contributing four points.

Daughtry scored 14 of her points in the third quarter when the Lady Cougars outscored FWC 24-7.

Ainsley Owen led the Lady Cardinals (15-14) with 14 points. Addision Hooper added 10.

Grace, ranked No. 7, returns to TAPPS District 3-5A play on Friday at All Saints. The girls game is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the boys game.

BULLARD - Erin Berry had a game-high 21 points and Allie Kirgan added 16 as the No. 17 Bullard Lady Panthers scored a 57-33 win over Chapel Hill on Tuesday in a District 15-4A girls basketball game.

Bullard improved to 22-7 overall and 1-1 in league play, while the Lady Bulldogs fell to 16-9 and 1-1.

Haley Day added eight points for the Lady Panthers with Sydney Foster contributing six.

Karlea Duhon led Chapel Hill with 12 points, while Ty’Liyah Moore added 11. Natalya Overshown tossed in seven.

Chapel Hill plays host to Kilgore on Friday, while Bullard visits Longview Spring Hill. Both games have 6 p.m. tipoffs slated.

EMORY - Chanlee Oaks had a 27 points in leading the Rains LadyCats to a 63-51 win over the Brownsboro Bearettes on Tuesday in a District 13-4A girls basketball game.

Jaylee Sims added 10 points while Autumn Terry had nine for Rains.

Brownsboro’s Alexis Hambrick (13 points) and Morgyn Fulgham (11 points) were the top scorers for the Bearettes.

Rains will travel to Mabank for a 5 p.m. matchup on Friday.

Brownsboro plays host to Wills Point on Friday.

Jerkasia Anthony added eight points for the Lady Lions.

Hudson’s top scorers of the night were Madison Hawkins (13 points) and Gracie England (12 points).

Henderson will go back on the road to face Center on Friday.

The Lady Hawks were lead by Raeli Smith (8), Jaycee Cheshire (7) and Emily Moore (6).

Hawkins will play against Overton in Overton on Friday evening.

UG (15-5, 2-0) will play host to Gary on Friday.

Canton was led by Ashley Wood (16 points), Olivia Norell (14 points), Hannah Manry (12 points), Kenley Nixon (9) and Kayden Prox (8 points).

Canton will take the fight to Van on Friday night.

CAMPBELL - Abbie Orrick hit for 25 points and Briley Moon added 15 as No. 1 Martin’s Mill scored a 59-34 win over Campbell in a District 14-2A girls basketball game on Tuesday.

The Lady Mustangs improved to 25-1 on the season and 2-0 in league play, while the Lady Indians fall to 21-6 and 1-1.

Martin’s Mill plays host to North Hopkins at 6 p.m. Friday, while Campbell visits Quinlan Boles.

Sabine 59, West Rusk 26

LIBERTY CITY - Kristen Stuart and Genesis Willett eah hit for 18 points in leading the Sabine Lady Cardinals to a 59-26 win over the West Rusk Lady Raiders on Tuesday in a District 15-3A girls basketball game.

Miranda Cook had a near double-double with 10 poitns and nine rebounds.

Stuart added eight rebounds, five steals and three assists with Willett adding six steals.

Others scoring for Sabine were Natalie Morgan (7), Sarah Davis (2), Jordin Broadway (2) and Mikinzi Cantrell (2). Misty Pate had four rebounds.

Sabine plays at Arp on Friday.
