MESQUITE - North Mesquite rallied past the Tyler Lee Red Raiders in the fourth quarter, scoring a 54-44 win on Tuesday in a District 11-6A basketball game.

The Red Raiders (9-15, 0-4) led 31-30 entering the final period, but the Stallions outscored REL 24-13.

Devin Johnson led Lee with 11 points with Xavier Hunter adding nine and Matt Wade tossing in eight.

Trey Moore led the Stallions (9-7, 2-2) with 17 points and Jerry Carraway Jr. added 11.

The Red Raiders return to play on Friday, meeting John Tyler at Tyler Junior College’s Wagstaff Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., following the girls game.

DOUGLASS - The Douglass Indians held off the Brook Hill Guard, 39-38, on Tuesday in a non-district basketball.

Miguel Vega led the Guard with 18 points, followed by Campbell Fletcher (10), Carson Richards (7) and TyJuan Cannon (3).

The Guard returns to TAPPS District 3-5A action on Friday, playing host to Bishop Gorman. The girls game is set for 6 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m.

Douglass is scheduled to visit Cushing on Friday.

ELKHART - Oakwood rallied past the No. 11 Slocum Mustangs 61-56 in overtime on Friday in a District 27-1A boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Jacob Lane (16 points), Taylor Hunt (12 points) and Travis Neal (10 points) led the Mustangs.

Slocum will return back to the court on Friday against Avalon in Avalon at 7:30 pm.
