Men: Sul Ross State 80, UT Tyler 58

ALPINE - Sul Ross State scored an 80-58 win over UT Tyler on Saturday in an American Southwest Conference men’s basketball game at the Gallego Center.

The Patriots (10-4, 3-4 ASC) were limited to 38.5 percent shooting, while the Lobos (11-4, 6-1 ASC) won their ninth straight game after hitting 13 3-pointers in the game.

UT Tyler will return home to host Louisiana College on Thursday and Belhaven on Saturday, Jan. 13 for its alumni game and only home stand of the month of January. The Patriots and Wildcats will tip-off at 7:30 p.m., while the Saturday game is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Herrington Patriot Center.

Emeka Obukwelu led the Patriots with 10 points and seven rebounds, while Xavier Fogle had nine points off the bench.
