ROCKWALL 70, TYLER LEE 56

Devin Johnson hit for 28 points but the Tyler Lee Red Raiders could not overcome an early deficit, falling to the Rockwall Yellowjackets, 70-56, on Friday in a District 11-6A basketball game at the REL Varsity Gymnasium.

Johnson had eight 3-pointers in the contest, including six in the fourth quarter.

The Red Raiders (9-14, 0-3) play at North Mesquite on Tuesday. Rockwall (15-8, 2-1) is scheduled to host Mesquite on Tuesday.

LONGVIEW - Longview outscored John Tyler, 20-4, in the fourth quarter to rally past the Lions 46-39 on Friday in a District 11-6A boys basketball game at Lobo Coliseum.

JT (9-11, 0-3) 35-26 entering the final period, but the Lions went cold.

Longview improves to 16-5 and 2-1.

DaeCorian Jessie led the Lions with 11 points.

Phillip Washington scored all of his 11 points in the fourth quarter and Jaylin Brown had 10 points for the game.

JT returns to Tyler on Tuesday to face Mesquite Horn at Boulter Middle School, while Longview visits Rockwall-Heath.

Miguel Vega and Carson Richards added 14 points apiece for the Cougars (14-7).

Jacob Shultz led the Cougars with 14 points with James Sutton adding 10.

CENTER - Chapel Hill took No. 1 Center to the wire before the Roughriders pulled out a 58-54 win over the Bulldogs Friday night.

Teon Erwin led Chapel Hill (18-9) with 20 points, while Devin Taylor (11) and Parker Roe (10) were also in double figures.

Kaleb Parks led Center (21-1) with 28 points, while Jaterious Evans added 14.

Chapel Hill returns home on Jan. 12 against Kilgore.

BROWNSBORO - The Brownsboro Bears rallied in the fourth quarter to force overtime and eventually capture a 59-55 decision over the Corsicana Tigers in a boys basketball game Friday afternoon.

Kenneth Woods paced the Bears (12-5) with 19 points, while Kevon Thompson added 17. Jared Gailey added 11.

Corsicana led 37-26 at halftime. The Bears outscored the Tigers 16-9 in the third period to pull within 46-42 and then forced OT by outscoring Corsicana 10-6 in the fourth period as the teams were tied at 52-52 at the end of regulation.

Brownsboro returns to play next Friday, hosting Wills Point at 7:30 p.m.

Eylan Goodwyn led the Cardinals (14-6, 2-1) with 22 points with teammate Will Shawn adding 16.

Beard’s trey helped Big Sandy rally from a 58-50 fourth-quarter deficit.

Josiah Johnson led Big Sandy (12-4) with 26 points, while Tyler Caron led Spring Hill (12-11) with 25.

The Panthers (12-11) have the week off before opening District 15-4A play when they host Bullard Friday.
