No. 3 New Mexico JC edges TJC Apache Ladies

BOSSIER CITY, La. - No. 3 New Mexico Junior College held off the Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies, 68-65, on Wednesday during the final day of the Bossier Women’s Basketball Classic.

TJC broke out to a 21-14 lead and led 36-33 at halftime.

Djhai Patterson-Ricks led the Apache Ladies (8-6) with 21 points with Kendall Bess adding 14. Courtney Cook pitched in 12 points with Trelynn Tyler contributing nine.

Alexes Bryant led the Thunderbirds (16-0) with 24 points. Ni’Asia McIntosh added 14 and Jurnee President contributed 11.

TJC returns to Region XIV Conference play on Saturday, traveling to Kilgore to meet the Kilgore College Lady Rangers. The contest has a 2 p.m. scheduled start.

New Mexico JC is scheduled to host Western Texas on Jan. 11 in Hobbs, New Mexico.
