LONGVIEW - Connery Churchill and Kale Walters each hit for 11 points and teammate Joe Noble added 10 as the Lindale Eagles defeated Pine Tree, 52-49, on Tuesday in a boys basketball game.

Teigan Edwards (9 points) and Dillon Heinaman (7) were near double figures as the Eagles improved to 7-3 on the season.

The Eagles compete in the Chick-fil-A Tournament beginning Thursday in Union Grove. Lindale is scheduled to play Kilgore at 9 a.m. Thursday.

All Saints 63, MPCH 53

Daylon Lewis, Harrison Kirkpatrick and Scottie Turner hit three straight 3-pointers to put No. 4 All Saints ahead to stay in a 63-53 win over No. 23 Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill on Tuesday at Brookshire Gym.

The Trojans stayed unbeaten and improve their record to 11-0, while the Red Devils fall to 7-2.

The game was tied at 18-18 in the second when the Trojans hit the trifecta for a 27-18 advantage.

Turner led the Trojans with 22 points, followed by Levi McCasland’s 17 and Kirkpatrick’s 11. Mason Embry tossed in seven.

Cole Posey and Zachary Shipp led the Red Devils with 16 points apiece. Baylee Bynum was next with nine points.

Kirkpatrick’s trey gave All Saints its biggest lead, 53-39, in the fourth quarter.

Embry and Turner each connected on free throws down the streak to keep the Red Devils at bay.

All Saints will now meet Scurry-Rosser on Thursday in the first round of the Wills Point Tournament.

MPCH plays in the Great East Texas Shootout in Brownsboro. The Red Devils meet Crockett at 3:15 p.m. Thursday at the Brownsboro High School gym.

NEW CHAPEL HILL - Teon Erwin led the Bulldogs with 21 points and 13 rebounds as Chapel Hill downed Tatum 78-64 on Tuesday in a boys basketball game.

Parker Roe added 19 points for CH, while Quinzarius Daniel (11 points) and Cade Williams (10) were also in double figures. Devin Taylor just missed with nine points.

The Bulldogs (5-3) will now take part in the Hardin-Jefferson Tournament beginning Thursday in Sour Lake. Chapel Hill is scheduled to play Huffman Hargrave at 10:30 a.m.

Tatum (3-4) is also in the H-J tourney, meeting Laredo Nixon at noon Thursday.

GLADEWATER - Kevon Thompson and Kenneth Woods combined for 27 points in leading Brownsboro to a 53-33 win over Gladewater on Tuesday in a battle of the Bears.

Thompson led with 14 with Woods tossing in 13 points. Izik Boykin added nine for Brownsboro (3-2).

Brownsboro hosts the Great East Texas Shootout this weekend. The Bears will play Winona at 12:15 p.m. Thursday at the high school gym.

Gladewater is also in the tournament, meeting Frankston at 2 p.m. Thursday at the intermediate school gym.

BECKVILLE - Jared Jackson scored 23 points and Shane Thomas added 17 as the Troup Tigers defeated the Beckville Bearcats 57-56 on Tuesday in a boys basketball game.

Weslee Ross and Grayson Driggs added eight and five points, respectively, for the Tigers (7-1), who outscored Beckville 19-14 in the fourth quarter.

Taylor Hightower and Stephen Darden led the Bearcats (2-4) with 15 points each. Nate Marry (9) and Trey Lindsey (8) were right behind the leaders.

Troup plays in the Quitman Tournament next with two games on Thursday - 12:30 p.m. vs. Overton and 3 p.m. vs. Longview Christian Heritage.

Miguel Vega, who signed with Tyler Junior College baseball on Monday, led the way with 20 points, while Reid Hill added 15. Campbell Fletcher contributed 14 for the Guard (7-1).

Garrett Beene led the Chargers (4-4) with 34 points.

Brook Hill faces Fort Worth Chisholm Trail at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Abilene Wylie Tournament.

Karson Sutsch led the Knights witih 23 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, while teammate Seth Ballou added 15 points, 11 boards and four assists. Freshman Ethan Montgomery chipped in 16 points and three steals.
