Basketball: No. 22 Apache Ladies defeat Hill College, 77-62

Trelynn Tyler scored 16 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter, sparking the No. 22 Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies to a 77-62 win over Hill College on Saturday at Wagstaff Gymnasium.

TJC (3-1) finished 2-0 in the two-day Holiday Inn Basketball Classic. On Friday, the Apache Ladies defeated Arkansas Baptist for the second time this season, 89-61.

Kierra Brimzy, a 5-8 freshman guard from Natchitoches, Louisiana, led the Apache Ladies with 21 points, while Tyler, a 5-8 freshman from Grand Prairie, was next with 18.

Keyneso Hunter, a 5-11 freshman guard from Hot Springs, Arkansas, added 15.

Miranda Stephens led the Lady Rebels (4-2) with 17 points.

SMOKE SIGNALS: The TJC men’s basketball team will play host to Capital City Prep of Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Sunday at Wagstaff Gymnasium. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. The Apaches also play on Monday against Northwestern State JV at 7 p.m.
