WILLS POINT β€” Stylz Sanders converted a layup with three seconds remaining, lifting Mansfield Summit to a 47-46 win over Lindale on Tuesday in a Class 4A girls basketball regional quarterfinal.

Lindale was unable to inbound the ball resulting in a turnover that sealed the victory for the Jaguars.

Hannah Malone sank two free throws to put Lindale up 46-45 just a few seconds earlier.

Lindale (25-6) ended its season just one win shy of the regional tournament.

The Lady Eagles trailed most of the first quarter after committing eight early turnovers. Despite their early struggles, Lindale was able to take their first lead with Neeley Doss delivering a pass from half court assisting Zhanelle Geathers for a wide open layup to make it 14-13.

Both teams continued to trade the lead late into the fourth quarter until Summit’s Sanders sank a layup through three defenders to give the Jaguars a 45-44 lead with 30 seconds left.

Sanders was the leading scorer for the game with 18 points. Lindale was led by Natasha Malone with 11.
