Reed goes 4 for 4 to help Grace take rubber match vs. All Saints, 4-2

Cole Reed went 4 for 4 with a double to help Grace Community edge All Saints 4-2 in the rubber match of a three-game series on Thursday.

Blake Hubbard struck out seven and allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks in a complete-game effort for the Cougars (3-3 TAPPS D-II District 3).

Reed and Jake Wright both had a double, a run and an RBI. Wright’s double scored Reed for the first run of the day.

Andrew Werner took the loss for the Trojans (4-2 in district), though two of the three runs he allowed in the first inning were unearned. He also led All Saints at the plate, going 2 for 2.

The Trojans will next play a three-game series with Bullard Brook Hill, which currently leads the district at 5-1. Grace will finish with a three-game set against Bishop Gorman, currently winless in league play.
