John Tyler errors and a few timely hits by Arp led to a 17-3 win by the Tigers over the Lions on Monday at Mike Carter Field.

A huge 10-run fifth inning used up three John Tyler pitchers before a Dimitri Bowie three-run triple capped off the inning.

Arp lead-off hitter Gabe Reynolds reached base four times and scored on one of seven JT miscues.

John Tyler leadoff hitter Nathan Jacobs drew a walk to start the game and eventually evened the score at 1-1 as Jacobs scored on error.

Arp posted five runs in the top of the second behind a two-RBI single by Chase Carlisle.

The Lions catcher Jerron Jones ripped an RBI-double to make a slight comeback as he plated DeQuante Woods in the second inning before the Lions bats went silent.

Trailing 17-2 Lions shortstop, Jaylen Tennison led off the bottom of the inning being hit by pitch. Andrew Crawford reached on the fourth Tiger error of the game to plate Tennison for the 17-3 final count.

Diego Martinez, Tennison, and Crawford singled to go with Jones’ RBI-double to account for the four JT hits in the game.

Chase Donner, Marcalas Johnson, Michael Roberson, and Bowie scored two runs apiece in the win as Arp improves to 2-0 on the year.

The teams will participate in the Arp Tournament beginning Thursday.
