Apaches move to 10-1

The Tyler Junior College Apaches improved to 10-1 on the season with a 7-6 win over the UT Tyler JV on Monday at Irwin Field.

Richard Tordsen and Derek Vogl belted homers for the Apaches. Garrett Nelson blasted a home run for the Patriots.

Blaise Warrick had a double and triple for the Apaches. Also adding two hits were Logan Newton, Tordsen and Hunter Sutton (one of which was a triple). Derick Smith had three hits for the Patriots, while Trevor Peterson and Nelson had two apiece.

Doug Kinsey, Peterson, Michael Bernay, Nelson and Smith had doubles for UT Tyler.

Kevin Williams got the win for the Apaches, while Kyle Sargent recorded the save.

TJC plays at Mountain View in Dallas on Wednesday.

The first game of the doubleheader begins at noon.

The UT Tyler varsity plays today against LeTourneau in Longview. Gametime is 6 p.m.
