Athens splits pair

KAUFMAN β€” The Athens Hornets split a couple of games on Thursday in the Kaufman Holiday Basketball Tournament.

In the first game, Athens defeated host Kaufman 64-51 as Courtland Lyons hit for 20 points, while Anthony Taylor tossed in 12.

In the second game, Forney scored an 82-77 victory. Ryan Jefferson led the Hornets with 24 points, while Lyons and Taylor hit for 21 and 18, respectively.
