HS Basketball Roundup, Dec. 7: Lee beats Livingston

Published on Saturday, 8 December 2012 00:07 - Written by

LUFKIN β€” Robert E. Lee snapped a two-game skid with a 59-44 win over Livingston on Friday in their opening round game of the Lufkin Holiday Hoopfest.

The Red Raiders (8-2) never trailed with Taylor Tankersley scoring 23 points to lead the way while Darriun Smallwood finished with 11.

Garrett Green paced Livingston with 18 points.

Smallwood missed Tuesday’s loss at Jacksonville, but played a big role in Friday’s win, according to Lee coach Alan Johnston, who added it was a team effort.

β€œGreen is a major college recruit and he turned out to be everything we were told he was going to be,” Johnston said. β€œWe did a very good job on him to make (others beat us).”
