HOUSTON â€” Texas College continued its hot streak, with the Steers winning for the fifth straight time in a 53-50 victory Saturday over St. Thomas-Houston.
The Steers upped their record to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the Red River Athletic Conference. The Steers allowed a season-low against St. Thomas (5-3, 1-2), a team with a win over Rice under its belt.
St. Thomas claimed an 82-65 win over Texas College in the womenâ€™s game. St. Thomas improved to 4-5 overall and 2-1 in league play while the Lady Steers fell to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in the RRAC.
The Texas College squads return to action Monday with a doubleheader at Southwestern Assemblies of God in Waxahachie. The menâ€™s game pits the conference co-leaders in TC and SAGU (7-1, 2-0) after one week of conference play.
Texas College opens a three-game homestand starting Saturday against the University of the Southwest (N.M.), followed by dates with Texas Wesleyan (Dec. 10) and Bacone (Dec. 13).
