The Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies started the game on 13-1 run and rolled to a 92-69 win over Hill College on Saturday at Wagstaff Gymnasium.
Tyler (5-6) will try to reach the .500 mark when the Apache Ladies begin Region XIV conference play against Angelina at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Lufkin.
Sernise Robertson, who led all scorers with 28 points, and Tayshia Hunt led the way in the great start with five points each.
Hill College answered back with a 13-0 run to take a 14-13 advantage with around the 11-minute mark of the first half, but Tyler outscored the Rebels 15-4 in the last minutes of the first half to lead 47-33 at intermission.
Tyler’s Carolina Lopez added eight points in the second half and Tyler continued to play good defense.
Hunt contributed 19 points with two 3-pointers, while Kim Munoz and Blayke Hemmitt each scored eight points for the Apache Ladies.
Hill College (6-5) was led by Ashley Brown’s 21 points and Barvion Wyatt with 13.
